Fly

 

Airports:    Biarritz Bidart Airport  - 1.5 hour drive

(direct flights from Stanstead, Gatwick and Luton (July - Sept) serviced by Ryanair)

 

                     Bordeaux Airport - 2 hours drive

(direct flights from Gatwick or Luton serviced by Easyjet)

 

Lourdes Tarbes  Airport - 1.25 hours drive

(direct flights from London Stanstead serviced by Ryanair)

 

 

 

Reasonably priced Car Hire available at all airports.

Train

Ferry, Eurotunnel and Road

 

 

The quickest way to cross the English Channel is by Eurotunnel.

 

Car ferries are available from Dover, Portsmouth or Southampton to Calais,  Dunkirque, Caen or St Malo

Road journey from Calais 1025 km - 1.5 hour crossing

                                Dunkirque 1035 km - 1.45 hour cossing

                                Caen 761 km - 5 hour crossing

                                St Malo 690 km - 11 hour crossing

 

In addition Brittany Ferries operate a cruise ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao or Santander which takes just under 24 hours with a 2.45 hour onward drive to Sainte Colombe.  

 

Toll Motorways and Route Nationals are a pleasure to use, and not heaving with heavy traffic.  You can enjoy a hassle free and comfortable drive with many rest areas and village hospitality en route
