Rarely in a person do you find such a combination of complimentary elements ideally suited to an original idea. The concept of ‘practical art history breaks’ comes from this combination of Marcus Grey’s artistic skill and knowledge of the art world.

The son of a Canadian diplomat, Marcus was born in 1960 and attended the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. From 1979-84 he attended the famous Slade School in London and as a classically trained and established artist has exhibited widely in and around London, including the Indar Pasricha Fine Art Gallery, the Redleaf Gallery in Tunbridge Wells and the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. His work is held in private collections in France, Germany, Canada and the UK, and has been published in various journals and magazines including Elle. Marcus has been the head of the picture department for Rosebery’s auctioneers in South London for seven years and is responsible for running and cataloging all their picture sales.

His experience in dealing with art in the market place makes him well placed to cover a wide range of disciplines and media including 18th century to 20th century artists. He draws his artistic inspiration from his extensive world travels and can deliver a wealth of knowledge and experience to fellow artists and art lovers.

Marcus is a picture expert on the BBC 20th Century Roadshow.
