Born in 1964 Marc collected from an early age buying at spending his pocket money at antiques fairs and auctions. Dealing while at university helped to provide valuable experience and in the golden days of boot fairs Marc amassed a good collection of 18th and 19th century glass. At the age of 24 he joined Rosebery’s Auctioneers in London and later became a Director, a position he held for 12 years. With 17 years experience as a general valuer, cataloguer and auctioneer, Marc has a varied knowledge of furniture, works of art, and collectors’ items, including 20th century design, toys, militaria, ephemera and other areas. His personal favourites express his eclectic nature and include South American pottery, antiquities, tribal artefacts and ‘items that make a connection’. At Château Coye you are as likely to pick up Lloyd Georges briefcase as a piece of Georgian glass.
Marc has been a miscellaneous expert on the Antiques Roadshow since 1998 and much enjoys the staggering variety that he is confronted with. He was also a specialist on the 20th Century Roadshow as well as having made guest appearances on Going for a Song, The Life Laundry, Bargain Hunt, Cash in the Attic, Discovery TV, The Gloria Hunniford Show, Moving Day
